The general causes of headache during pregnancy are :
- Hormonal changes in pregnancy.
-More gap between meals leading to hypoglycemia.
-Increased physical and mental stress and strain.
-Lack of physical activity.
-Inadequate intake of water and fluids. -Decreased sleep.
-Medical problems like increased blood pressure etc.
So, by changing lifestyle the headache can be relieved to some extent.
-Take plenty of water, fruits and vegetables.
-Eat smaller amount of food at more frequent intervals.
- Enough sleep and rest are needed. Better to take 2 hours rest in the afternoons and at least 8 hours sleep during nights.
-Practice deep breathing, yoga postures those are safe in pregnancy, walking etc.
- Massaging over neck, shoulders, temporal regions etc can give some relief from tension headache.
-Spending around 10 to 15 minutes in dark and quite room can give relief.
