Postponing or preponing the periods by using oral contraceptive pills

Combined oral contraceptive pills can also be used to prepone or postpone the periods.
To postpone the periods:
They can be used for postponing the periods and also for contraceptive purpose.
If want to have both effects, tablets to be started between first to fifth day of the periods and have to continue till the time you want to postpone the periods without break in between packs.
If just want to postpone the periods, tablets to be started at least one week before periods and have to continue till the date you want to postpone the periods.
To prepone the periods, tablets to be started at least 15 to 20 days before expected date of periods as explained in progesterone pills.
But tablets to be taken at the same time every day.
If the time is missed that can lead to withdrawal bleeding.
While intake of tablets side effects like nausea, bloating sensation of the abdomen etc side effects can occur. And after stopping the pills it may take few months for regularization of the cycles sometimes.
